THE OLD GARDEN
walk silently beneath the trees. a lovely sound is in your ear. when black flowers blossom wide... I'll be inside...
were you lost along the way? I thought I told you. it was the same that we crossed some time ago. there it goes...
(a nature) nature, bless a dream child. running dry against the rain, shines so bright and drains the war. give me
night, give me day... dream awake your tiny past like images of broken glass. take a step, that ground is yours...
with all those colours... were you sad when it was gone? were you blue, my crazy one? now it's time for us to say:
live those days... forever... (a nature) nature, bless a dream child. running dry against the rain, shines so bright
and drains the war. give me night, give me day...
A DESPERATE CALL FROM LONDON
someone is all that love over the phone just trying to see if I'm here, but I'm not home. all that hazy past brings
back the fear of losing everything we had here and life destroys. breed through the photograph enchanting my
sense. this is a cruel place to be... 'I am looking for a good time', said the trembling voice in need, 'a couple of
drinks and a motel flash can get me down on my knees'. these are the blue days... someone is all that peace you
find inside when you are lonely and the world turns off your fragile beam. someone is all that love over the phone...
pray to the crazy stars, cool down your brain. this is a cruel place to be... 'I am looking for a fast wheel drive', said
the shivering man in need, 'a couple of shots of that brandy pain can get me to say please'. these are the blue days...
LEE, 1997
I opened up my book of poems and read them all to you, hoping to come through. I decided that I'd love your cracked
cocoon... my mellow yellow moon... I touched your face on fire, woman... lock me in your chest. you let me kiss your
breast the night when all were sleeping wrapped in dreams... my broken mandolin... I sang leonard's songs many hours
just for you and wrote miles and miles of words on paper like a work I had to do (to show your beauty through). crazy
nights of cold and love and the paintings I have done were never enough to reach the deepness of our sin... my
lovely heroin... try my great caress... oh, your lily white hands (together in death)... and picture morning on an eiffel
altitude... je t'aime, mon amour!
DRUNK SONG
fat rat waiting in the sac - there's a home for a million. blue bird waiting at the curve - laughing to a child. blind bitch
fighting with the stitch - she has a sticker in the eye. drunk song where do you belong? I'm leaving the bar, down to
the ground... they saw the clown fall, they saw the clown fall - they'll never be in love again...
DID A GUN GIVE YOU A NAME?
in your cymbaline, today's crime. you unite your slaves. you fill them with lies. by your side a scary gun - to head
on downtown. you look for a sign. things are so cruel this days... black coffee. speeding away. trouble, size and shape...
in your cymbaline, two more lines. you knew love on time. as far as you go... is it strange, the morning light? could it
be your eyes? you look for a sign. you just live on... this days... black coffee. speeding away. trouble, size and shape...
MÓNICA
one day you came running from crooked ways. a shelter is what you need when it all turns grey. my friend are you
smiling, are you happy now? (your) blue eyes could not see the answer to all of your needs. (you were) hungry for a
better love that arms could not embrace at all. my friend are you smiling, are you happy now? one day you came
running from crooked ways. (you were) hungry for a better love that arms could not embrace at all - your arms could
not embrace that love. my friend are you smiling, are you happy now?
YOU KNOWN WHAT I MEAN
please don't hate a soldier who hides a veteran smile. think of blood and violence as the great wound of his life.
please don't hate the partisan who killed your nazi son. a soldier is a pain that never goes away... please don't hate
a writer of songs who hides behind a name. think of sound and poetry as the beauty of the game. please don't hate
the critics who try to kill your partisan. an artist is a pain that never goes away... you know what i mean... you know
what to say.
AUTUMN SKY
black arrows fly too slow. a life appears in several ways. I was born a shooting star inside the hazy autumn sky...
red shadows. look down to the ground. a pitiful melancholic light... when I love her body (her body) glows inside the
hazy autumn sky... venom, catharsis vandalised, rides off the bottle and shines into the veins... stone crosses make
my vision. they stand alone out of the sand. granted load. grey silhouette inside the hazy autumn sky... black arrows
fly too slow. a life appears in several ways. I was born a shooting star inside the hazy autumn sky... venom, catharsis
vandalised, rides off the bottle and shines into the veins...
BREED LOW
morning comes, the oceans roars again. your sleepy eyes they say hello. windy borderline. no conversations as you
see them walking slow. hardly understanding, you just want to feel the sun warming your coat. heaven and horizons
make you wonder if you really are alone. you were my vision for a second in your fancy cashmere clothes - photographs
and silhouettes make a man breed low...
